TALEGAON, PUNE – The stage at DY Patil College of Engineering and Innovation lit up with energy as student band The Undecided delivered a powerful performance at Karandak 2K26, ultimately securing first place in the competition.

The eight-member group, featuring vocals, lead guitar, keyboard, bass guitar, drums, rhythm guitar, and a dedicated band manager, brought an electrifying set to the audience. Rhythm guitarist Amitabh Sarkar described the moments before stepping on stage as a mix of nerves, anxiety, thrill, and excitement , emotions that quickly turned into confidence once the music started.

The band’s setlist blended classics and bold reinterpretations. They opened with “Rolling in the Deep", followed by an ambitious mashup combining “Smells Like Teen Spirit", “Billie Jean", and “Seven Nation Army". They closed the performance with Twenty One Two’s version of “Blank Space", which drew loud cheers from the crowd.

The performance wasn’t without its chaotic rock-band moments. During one section, the bassist went slightly off-key while attempting an intense scream, just as pyrotechnics burst on stage, adding unexpected drama to the show. Rather than slowing the band down, the moment energised the crowd even more.

Audience members responded with loud cheers and excitement, turning the college venue into something closer to a live concert than a competition stage.

By the end of the night, the judges made it official — The Undecided took home first place, marking a major win for the band and a memorable night at Karandak 2K26.

For the band members, the victory was more than just a trophy and the prize money; it was proof that their chemistry, risk-taking setlist, and stage energy could win over both judges and audience alike.
